Technology techniques to save or raise money

Non-profits often have thin budgets and need to use technology to ensure cost effective operations.  Various techniques can assist in the cost savings like the use of "Open Source" software which is free.

The purchase of commercial software for discount rates is often overlooked by many non-profit organizations.  While this is less frequent than previous years, it still remains a surprise to many non-profits.  One long standing resource for software acquisition is TechSoup (http://www.techsoup.org - US).  Organizations can apply for membership and then participate in purchase of various products for large discounts.

How can your organization raise money?

A newer website, NOZA Search, has launched a web interface which allows for searching public records of charitable donations.  The site claims to have over 35 million records of contributions to various charities/non-profits, including religious organizations which often appear exclude by commercial companies.

One can become a member via several methods and then perform a search of potential contributors to your cause.  The Noza search site is located at http://www.nozasearch.com.
